In this workshop, we're talking all about the art of self-editing. Knowing how to self-edit like a master — and we're talking more about structure and content here than typos — is just as important as writing a great piece. Doing it well is probably not as simple as you think.

Senior Features Editor Rachel Krantz has to reject far too many great pitches simply because they haven't been edited thoroughly enough, so don't let it happen to you! We'll talk techniques to approaching structure, clarifying meaning, condensing, determining whether you're being honest, polishing language, and more.

Bring a piece you're currently working on that's under 2000 words (ideally a sample essay, blog post, editorial, or other non-fiction), because we'll be doing plenty of workshopping. Rachel can also answer any questions you might have about pitching for online publication.
