This is an old class! Enjoy the notes, and check out the current courses.

The words "rope jewelry" don't always conjure the same image for everybody. Know about those plain old sailor's bracelets that shrink to fit your wrist? Yeah, I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about a type of amazingly cool, fun, and colorful jewelry that has been making quite a statement in fashion recently. This "soft jewelry" is so comfortable that it makes the experience of wearing a delight. It's not as valuable as, say, diamonds, BUT appreciated for its unique characteristics...much can be done with rope.

Come prepared to experiment with various rope configurations to make your own masterful statement. Decorative elements such as wooden beads and metal tubing will be available. I'll compile images of rope jewelry from the recent and distant past, and handouts of different knots will be given. Over the course of two weeks, you'll make both a necklace and a bracelet.

You've never needed a million dollars to make a statement.
