Taught by Stephanie Stepp

Stephanie Stepp wears many hats, but as a radio talk show host,  she has found an interesting and exciting way to give individuals a voice through her work.

“People are a lot smarter than they are given credit for. I believe no matter what, that people still wield a lot of power they just have to be invited to use it. “

And that is just what Stephanie does. She invites people express themselves by passionately sharing their thoughts and opinions and in doing so, helps them to find a bit of their own power. Stephanie hosts a sports radio talk show on WHCR 90.3 FM, based out of Harlem, NY.  Her show is about more than famous athletes and issues, it is about using a platform that reaches a wide variety of people to the best of her ability.  Engaging listeners and being engaged as well.

A resident of Brooklyn, NY, Stephanie in addition to her life as a radio show host has worked as a television producer, mediator, workshop facilitator and spokesperson.  She’s currently writing her 1st book.

This is an old class! Check out the current classes, or sign up for our mailing list to see if we'll offer this one again.

This class might be over, but get first dibs on new sessions and brand-new classes by signing up on our ultra-rad mailing list.

We're all passionate about something and want to share it, but how do we translate that into compelling conversation that the public wants to listen to? In this class, we’ll explore the complex process of bringing your passion to radio or a podcast.

Some of the topics we’ll discuss are: being knowledgeable of your topics, getting and interviewing guests, tone, being honest, admitting when your wrong, knowing when and how to rope someone in, how to end an interview, segueing, time management, and doing the required station house keeping like station ID's and PSA's.

We’ll also discuss about some of the (good) side effects that come along with hosting a show: improved self-confidence, communication skills, and becoming a better listener and student of life.

Finally, we’ll talk about the money question: with a few simple tips, general managers and sponsors won't be able to say no to you!
