This class will explore the edible wonders of stinging nettles, plus countless other ways to use this amazing plant which has medicinal benefits from its leaves, seeds and even its root...

Whether its a souffle or a vegan and gluten free pancake, nettles are an incredibly versatile nutrient packed food that you should get to know.  If you have access to fresh nettles from your local Coop or farmers market then bring them along, otherwise to cook along for this class you will need 2-4 ounces of dried nettles plus other ingredients that we will share in advance of the class.

Herb Supplies:

If you are a Brooklyn resident you can purchase dried nettles at the following shops offering curbside pick up are: Antidote Apothecary, (Greenpoint), Remedies, ( Carroll Gardens), Radical Herbs, (Atlantic Avenue). Call all shops for details.

Online, you can order from Jeans Greens.com....They accept online orders, but its important to read how they are processing their orders online...Their shopping cart is not activated. They will see the orders placed but to finalize and process the payment, the CVV code must be given in person over the phone, so after physically placing the order online, call the store to give them the CVV code.

In addtion to powdered and/or fresh nettles, please have access to a stove, a frying pan, some flax seeds and something to grind them in, some nutritional yeast, thyme or oregano, chickpea flower, garlic, olive oil, some pecans or walnuts, a kettle or a pot to heat water on the stove, salt and pepper.

You're also welcome to just watch rather than make along. Recipes provided.
