Come join other Tolkien and fantasy fans to celebrate The Silmarillion (1977), and acknowledge the arrival of men to Middle Earth with an audio tape reading and discussion of a selection (The Coming of Man chapter) from the cult classic.

Fantasy has seen a change with Harry Potter and Game of Thrones, but it should not forget the Tolkiens who where a wellspring in this genre. For fans of The Silmarillion this will be a reunion with other likeminded individuals.

For those who have not delved deeply into Middle Earth they might find a doorway here into The Silmarillion -- a dense book which rewarded a re-reading. It also contained new languages that Tolkien created. It gives its readers a deeper understanding of the world the Tolkiens exhumed from their minds and the myths of the past. Find out why one does not really know Tolkien if they have not read The Silmarillion which will be 40 in 2017. Missing from some other fantasies are the longer histories of the Elves and Men that is contained here. We now live in the Anthropocene or the Age of Man which for some has not lost all its magic.
