Have you noticed that the second you sit down at your notebook or computer and try to think of something good to write about, dammit, your mind goes blank? In this class, we’ll take it down a notch, cultivating the kind of relaxed environment that breeds creativity.

Through fun and low-pressure exercises, we’ll come up with ideas for personal essays, and start writing a few of them. You won’t leave with a finished, polished piece, but rather a series of beginnings that you can craft into full narratives once you leave. Getting started is the hardest part, so this class is designed to make it as fun and playful as possible. Be prepared to enjoy yourself.
