Taught by Dean Sparks

About eight years ago, NY farmers Dean Sparks and Dan France met and discovered that they both shared a passion for organic farming and wanted a way to get their products out to consumers. Then and there, Dean and Dan founded Nyfoods Organics, and started selling their milk and eggs.  In the process, they also set about educating New York's agricultural community on the benefits of organics. Their mission is simple: To bring New Yorkers outstanding organic food made here in NY by small family farms.  Certified organic nymilk, nyeggs and nybutter are brought fresh to you by a group of like-minded family farmers from all across NY.

This is an old class! Enjoy the notes, and check out the current courses.

NOTE: There's only one session of the class on July 7, but two different seat options are available. The $42 option is for one seat in the class + one dairy share. The $59 option is for two spots in class + one dairy share.

So we know it's important to buy local and support sustainable farming, but come learn all the reasons why.

Dean Sparks, Founder of Nyfoods, will talk about the specific differences in organic vs. conventional farming, supporting small family farms, and enjoying great dairy, along with ample time for Q&A. Dean's farm in Greene, NY has been organic for 15 years, and his visionary brand is bringing local, organic dairy to families all across NY. You won't want to miss this chance to learn about organic agriculture from someone who lives it.

As part of the class fee, you'll receive a half gallon of organic milk, a dozen organic pastured eggs, a pound of organic butter (yum!) and a nice chunk of raw milk cheddar cheese, along with a Brainery tote to carry it all home in!
