Learn the traditional art of shibori dyeing with natural indigo dye.

In this class, you'll be shown how to start your own indigo vat and balance it to keep it going. 3-5 folding and stitch resist techniques will be demonstrated, and you'll select a few that you're drawn to and dye some of the plain items you have lying around the house!

Please feel free to bring a few items with you to dye. Clean, white or lightly colored natural fibers (such as cotton, silk, or wool) work best. Leave with one-of-a-kind fibers to keep or share! It's always fun to bring in items that you have lying around the home, but we'll have sample materials ready for you to try out all the techniques as well, including cotton tea towels.
