Whether you’re headed home, or to meet your significant other’s parents for the first time, or throwing the Friendsgiving of the century, there’s one thing that will be just as important as the turkey (or turducken) on your table: the wine.

Whether it's Champagne, crèmant, or fine aged wines: you want to carefully select these lovely bottles to enhance the gorgeous food that was prepared with so much devotion. But how to know which Champagne to buy? How much to spend? Which aged red wine to drink, and whether to decant it? How long should the bottle be open before you drink it? And which wine to serve, at what point in the meal?

Don’t stress – the point of wine is to enjoy it! That said, this class is your opportunity to learn about selecting, serving, and enjoying wines for special occasions, like holiday meals. We will taste several wines, including sparkling ones, aged ones, and also one that’s just a great value (not all of your Thanksgiving wines need be expensive), and talk about what makes them interesting, and how to pair them with food. There will be time for Q&A, and then for the last 20 minutes of class, we will visit a shop, Discovery Wines, and I will personally help you select a special bottle.

This class will be held at the beautiful restaurant, In Vino, in the East Village. 21 and up; please bring ID.
