Saturday, July 6, 12:00-5:00pm

Location: Prospect Heights Brainery (190 Underhill Ave in Prospect Heights, BK)

In this 5-hour workshop, we'll explore methods of printmaking that do not require a press and can easily be done at home. You'll learn the basic principles of relief printing (using EZ-cuts and linoleum), monoprinting (using plexi glass), as well as alternative processes like photocopy transferring. The class will demonstrate these techniques and allow students the chance to practice, and make multiples of their imagery. At the end of the workshop, students can swap prints, taking a new collection of art home with them.

No previous knowledge of printmaking is necessary.

Students are encouraged to bring 5-10 photocopies of images you want to use in class. Note: they MUST BE PHOTOCOPIES; computer printouts will not work for the transferring process. Images should be simple and small, around 4" x 5" and in black and white.

(Class size: 10, hands on, includes a lino cutter set for you to keep!)
