Lending libraries
One of the things we're most excited about doing in our own space is having a bunch of awesome supplies libraries. They'll be full of useful things you can mess around with and borrow that aren't just a bunch of books.
Getting into a new hobby can cost a lot! You end up buying things that you only use once, or only need a little bit of. Sure, making block prints for a few birthday cards would be awesome, but is it really worth dropping all that money on blocks and ink and lino cutters when you aren't going to use them the other 350 days of the year? Just use our stuff.
And remember that time you decided you were going to learn how to whittle? But then you realized you definitely didn't have a veiner or a carvers mallet, and you didn't even really know if whittling was going to be any fun in the first place. You can borrow our equipment and see if you like it first.
Or let's say you leave Scents & Sensibility determined to start your own fragrance line, but you need to learn all of the essential oils first. Don't drop $600 on a hundred different vials, just check out our library.
And maybe your kitchen isn't very chemistry friendly and it's really getting in the way of the gentleman scientist thing you're going for. We'll have enough beakers and pipettes to keep you covered.
What about when you need to borrow tools? Tool lending libraries have been around forever, but let's have one here! We promise that even though you need that jigsaw today, you probably won't need it tomorrow.
Send us your ideas for other lending libraries right on over at info@brooklynbrainery.com. You can also help us find a place to keep all these whittling tools and perfume vials by donating a few bucks to our Kickstarter campaign.
